The Department of Physiotherapy was established in 1976 at Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Pravara Rural Hospital to cater to the preventive, curative, therapeutic and rehabilitation needs of the rural people. Need was felt to impart the much needed physiotherapy training programme and hence Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam College of Physiotherapy (Formerly Knows as "College of Physiotherapy") was establsihed in 1997 to achieve this obejctive. College of Physiotherapy was established in 1997 to achieve this objective.
The college was affiliated to University of Pune in 1997 and later to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nasik from 1998 to 2003. With the status of “Deemed University” awarded to Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences in 2004, the College became a constituent unit of PIMS-DU.
“Indian Association of Physiotherapists(IAP)”, “Rehabilitation Council of India(RCI)” and “Maharashtra State Council for Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy” have recognized the College.
NEET UG 2024 will be held on May 5, 2024 for admission to MBBS at GSMC Mumbai. NEET UG Admit Card 2024 has been released on May 1, 2024 @ exams.nta.ac.in/NEET. NEET UG 2024 Result will be declared on June 14, 2024. NEET PG 2024 has been preponed to June 23, 2024 for admission to MD/ MS/ PG Diploma at GSMC Mumbai. NEET PG 2024 Applications are now open @ natboard.edu.in. The last date to apply for NEET PG 2024 is May 6, 2024.

Physiotherapy as a Profession plays an important role in various other branches of medical profession like Orthopaedics, Sports, Neurology, cardiothoracic, obstetric & Gynaecology, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Community Based Rehabilitation and ergonomic evaluation & advice, etc.
Dr. Ulhas Patil College of Physiotherapy was established in the year 2005 with a mission to develop knowledgeable & efficient Physiotherapists. The college is Affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, Approved by State Government of Maharashtra, Approved by The Indian Association of Physiotherapists, Recognized by Maharashtra State OT & PT Council, Mumbai. Dr. Ulhas Patil College of Physiotherapy offers a degree in Physiotherapy which is a four & half year course which includes six months Internship. Students here experience high quality education that will help them to acquire skills, which will give them professional competence to treat a full range of physical impediments, which could be congenital, post-operative or after trauma.
MGM School of Physiotherapy, Navi Mumbai was established as a constituent unit of Mahatma Gandhi Mission Institute of Health Sciences in 2008, when the first batch of students was admitted for BPT and MPT programs.
